Overview:
We are piloting a new, automated data ingestion pipeline using Qlik Replicate Change Data Capture (CDC). This method establishes a real-time, transactional sync directly from legacy source systems into Databricks Delta tables.
Why It Matters:
Army, Navy, and Air Force as well as CDAO stakeholders who need rapid data ingest into WDP and real-time updates, can all benefit from this technology. By automating the extraction and load processes, data owners regain control of their information, while WDP and functional admins are freed from maintaining fragile, point-to-point connections.
What You Will Learn:
In this session, we will demonstrate how to overcome traditional data ingestion hurdles. Attendees will learn how to:
- Eliminate Manual Mapping: Automatically map heterogeneous data types, primary keys, and table relations without hand-coding schemas.
- Achieve Real-Time Sync: Accelerate remote job queues by negotiating directly with Databricks compute resources for immediate data availability.
- Bypass Bottlenecks: Streamline your pipeline by eliminating the need to build and maintain bespoke FTP/SMTP connections or navigate lengthy Boundary Cloud Access Point (BCAP) approvals.
- Align with CDAO Standards: Seamlessly integrate with the Databricks "Medallion" architecture (Bronze/Silver/Gold) used as a platform baseline by the Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office.
- Accelerate AI Readiness: Drastically reduce data preparation and formatting hours, ensuring legacy data is AI-ready the moment it hits the lakehouse.
The new digital warrior & their agentic AI capabilities all ultimately depend on the availability & refresh tempo of operational data. DAF's moves to codify a master data strategy speak directly to the opportunity presented by this technology.
