Description

This session explores the strategic pivot of the CYBERCOM 2.0 initiative and its transformative impact on how the Department of the Air Force recruits, trains, and retains elite cyber operators for the joint fight.

Abstract:
As the strategic landscape in cyberspace evolves at an unprecedented pace, traditional military force generation models are no longer sufficient to meet the demands of modern cyber warfare. This session provides a comprehensive overview of the Department of War’s CYBERCOM 2.0 initiative and its direct implications for how the Department of the Air Force generates cyber operators.

Attendees will gain insight into the revised force generation model, which departs from legacy constructs to focus on three fundamental pillars: cultivating profound domain mastery, establishing dedicated pathways for deep technical specialization, and fostering the agility required to outmaneuver peer adversaries. We will examine the role of newly established enabling organizations—including the Cyber Talent Management Organization (CTMO), Advanced Cyber Training and Education Center (ACTEC), and Cyber Innovation Warfare Center (CIWC)—and discuss how the DAF is integrating these concepts to build a more resilient, lethal, and mission-ready cyber force.

Join us to discuss the future of cyber talent and how we are equipping our operators to dominate the digital domain.
