Charlie Jackson is Vice President of Software Development at Alaska Northstar Resources, an SBA 8(a) certified Alaska Native Corporation subsidiary providing technology services to the Department of the Air Force and other defense and federal civilian clients. He owns the software development portfolio there, spanning application development and sustainment, modernization, and the engineering practices behind them.
Charlie has spent more than two decades in software delivery, moving from hands-on developer to executive leader across both the public and private sectors. He has architected large-scale distributed systems, including full text search platforms handling millions of documents and high volume data visualization applications. He has built and led distributed engineering teams across multiple locations, taken over underperforming programs and brought them back to schedule, and delivered against federal cost and schedule commitments throughout.
Artificial intelligence is where he spends his time now. Charlie leads ANR's adoption of agentic AI across the software development lifecycle, from the engineering practices and tooling his teams use daily to the delivery methods the company brings to federal modernization work. He is responsible for the standards, review discipline, and client and government approvals that govern how the technology gets used on mission systems.
He holds certifications in generative AI, cybersecurity, Kubernetes development, and the AWS and Google Cloud platforms. His engineering depth is matched by a track record of translating technical decisions into terms that mission and business leaders can act on.
