Al Dungo sits at the dynamic intersection of federal service, academia, and industry technology. Driven by the core philosophy of "using technology to help people," his journey spans from overcoming early technological barriers in the underserved community of Uvalde, Texas, to earning a Master’s in Computer Science in 2022. Today, as a two-time Department of War (DoW) SMART STEM Scholar and an active Doctoral Student in Information Technology, Dungo brings academic rigor directly to the federal operational environment.
Currently appointed within the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Dungo focuses on the strategic modernization of legacy systems. While he is a strong proponent of utilizing AI concepts, such as the "Digital Agent", to passively capture legacy knowledge, the broader mission is upskilling the technology workforce to ensure readiness in the AI age.
Beyond the codebase, Dungo is a up-and-coming technology influencer and an active member of AFCEA. He is deeply passionate about technology equity and closing the digital divide, working to ensure that individuals from underserved communities receive equal exposure to STEM opportunities. By leveraging his platform and storytelling, he aspires to actively bridges the communication gaps between the federal government, academia, and private industry. As an enthusiastic ambassador for the SMART Scholarship program, Dungo is dedicated to recruiting, mentoring, and empowering the next generation of resilient, AI-fluent Digital Warriors.
