Shiv Bhuvanapalli is the Chief AI Officer at Inalab Group, an SBA 8(a) certified IT solutions and strategy consulting firm delivering mission-ready software for U.S. defense and federal government customers. In this role, he defines and drives overall AI and cloud strategy, leads capture efforts for DoD and IC opportunities, and oversees the architecture and development of Inalab's iLAB suite of platforms.
Shiv's current work at Inalab is focused on building platforms that bring automation to compliance, security, and DevSecOps in classified environments. Key programs he leads include iLAB SecureX, a threat-informed ATO automation platform that collects live evidence from infrastructure, generates AI narratives from real data, maps findings to MITRE ATT&CK with three threat intelligence agents, and exports submission-ready OSCAL, Word, PDF, and eMASS packages; iLAB-FAST, an AI-first DevSecOps platform with four specialized agents for IL5/STIG validation that projects a 50% reduction in time-to-ATO; an ATO Generator that automates compliance documentation, evidence collection, and NIST 800-53 control mapping; and a federal contract opportunities platform with AI-powered proposal generation and RFP parsing.
Before joining Inalab, Shiv spent almost eight years at Amazon Web Services (AWS) in the National Security and DoD practice, progressing from Senior Consultant to Customer Delivery Architect to Delivery Practice Manager. As DPM, he managed $6.8M in annual revenue, oversaw 14 direct reports, and directed delivery for 21+ large-scale programs across DoD and national security customers. He partnered with AWS sales teams on pre-sales solutioning, led executive briefings, and influenced cloud adoption strategies for some of the most sensitive workloads in government.
His technical delivery at AWS included designing and implementing Landing Zone Accelerators (LZA), secure multi-account architectures, and compliance frameworks across CC SRG, FedRAMP, and ICD 503 environments. He delivered a TS/Secret DevSecOps framework using EKS, GitLab, ArgoCD, and GitOps in air-gapped environments. He built production EKS clusters across multiple classification levels with Istio service mesh, Prometheus/Grafana observability, and STIG-hardened nodes. He also delivered AI-driven solutions including coding accelerators and generative AI applications, with advanced work in RAG, prompt engineering, and agentic workflows. He served as an AWS Bar Raiser, conducting 280+ interviews evaluating technical and leadership candidates.
Shiv is also President of Arcanum Cloud LLC, where he has built several AI-driven applications including an LZA ATO Companion (ATO automation with 7 AI components: RAG assistant, NIST 800-53 mapping across 367 controls, drift remediation, diagram generation, Zero Trust assessment, and SSP generation), an AWS Resource Analyzer (multi-agent AI for orphaned resource discovery using Bedrock Claude 3, compatible with GovCloud and air-gapped environments), and a Space Force satellite tracking application with AI anomaly detection and ML collision prediction.
His technical expertise spans AWS architecture (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, EKS, ECS, Fargate, Transit Gateway, Direct Connect, Route 53, Security Hub, GuardDuty, WAF, KMS, CloudFormation, CDK, CodePipeline, SageMaker, Bedrock, DynamoDB, Aurora Serverless, Cognito, OpenSearch), compliance frameworks (IL2, IL5, Secret, Top Secret, CC SRG, FedRAMP, ICD 503, STIG), and modern development tools (Terraform, ArgoCD, GitLab, Istio, Prometheus, Grafana, RAG, Multi-Agent Systems, NestJS, FastAPI, Kotlin).
Shiv holds a Master of Science in Engineering from West Virginia University and a Bachelor of Technology in Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Varanasi. He holds AWS Security Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect Associate, and CompTIA Security+ certifications.
He brings 29+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, cloud adoption, and software delivery, with a consistent focus on building working systems for the environments where compliance, security, and mission delivery intersect.
