AI-assisted development is rapidly increasing the volume and velocity of software creation, but the security capacity surrounding that software has not scaled at the same rate. At the same time, the window between vulnerability disclosure and active exploitation continues to shrink. The result is a widening machine-speed security gap: more code, more potential risk, and less time for human-centered processes to respond.
This session examines how that gap affects Air Force software factories, mission applications, and continuous authorization efforts. It will show why traditional batch scanning, manual triage, and downstream remediation are structurally mismatched to the pace of AI-driven development. It will then introduce an agentic AppSec operating model in which security assistance is embedded where code is written, reviewed, prioritized, and fixed.
Using Checkmarx Developer Assist, Triage Assist, and Remediation Assist as practical examples, attendees will see how agentic capabilities can help identify risk earlier, reduce noise, generate context-aware remediation, and preserve human review and accountability. The session will connect these capabilities to Zero Trust, RMF and ATO evidence generation, cATO workflows, POA&M reduction, software-factory standardization, and governance of AI-generated code.
