This session shares lessons learned from delivering a 10-day Agentic AI Bootcamp built to transform government developers and functional users into AI-first practitioners. The instructor-led curriculum progresses from LLM fundamentals and prompt engineering through RAG, tool calling, and multi-agent systems, culminating in a capstone where teams ship deployed AI-assisted workflows by day 10. Trainees graduate with hands-on experience in defense-first engineering practices — prompt-injection defenses, PII protection, observability, and token/cost-conscious development — not theoretical exposure alone. We will share outcomes from cohorts of both technical and functional users, including the MVP automations they built and how leadership identified quick wins for scaling. Attendees will leave with a reproducible blueprint for standing up similar upskilling programs that turn workforce curiosity into production-ready AI capability across DAF teams.
