To maintain a decisive operational advantage from the terrestrial enterprise to the orbital edge, the Department of the Air Force requires a software development and cyber operations workforce capable of operating at machine speed. However, building an AI-fluent workforce involves more than deploying standard generative AI assistants; it requires training Digital Warriors to operate confidently at the precise intersection of human intuition and machine intelligence.
This presentation provides an operational blueprint for upskilling software engineering and cyber teams by combining AI-enabled tools with structured, secure workflows. Drawing from BridgePhase’s hands-on experience modernizing defense cyber infrastructure, we explore the integration of Synapse, a hardened agentic coding harness, with the AI-Driven Development Lifecycle (AIDLC) framework.
Attendees will learn how to design training models that move beyond passive prompt engineering. Instead, the session focuses on teaching personnel a critical dual-capability: leveraging the rapid, nondeterministic generation of autonomous AI agents while ruthlessly enforcing strict, deterministic controls and programmatic verifications. Through real-world case studies in automating secure cloud infrastructure and rapid analytics prototyping, we will demonstrate how to architect an environment where guardrails are automated, policy-as-code is baseline, and human intuition provides the ultimate sovereign verification.
Key Learning Objectives:
- Understand Agentic Workflows: Define the shift from basic LLM assistance to hardened autonomous agents while maintaining a human in-the-loop.
- Master the Intersection: Train personnel to identify when to offload heavy lifting to nondeterministic AI models and when to mandate strict deterministic validation.
- Operationalize AIDLC: Implement a secure, repeatable blueprint for AI-driven software development that enhances throughput without compromising security or software assurance.
