The state of play in cybersecurity in the age of AI is complex and rapidly evolving. Yet, within this turbulence, there are enduring themes and topic areas where strategic research and development (R&D) can drive game-changing operational improvements across a wide range of missions and systems. In this presentation, retired Brig Gen Greg Touhill, the first US. CISO who now serves as the director of the world-renowned CERT at Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute, introduces a forward-looking cyber research agenda designed to gain, secure, and maintain information dominance in the face of the most sophisticated contemporary and future cyber threats. At the conclusion of this presentation, attendees will better understand the current state of cyber R&D, mission relevant technical challenges, forecasted threats, and recommended actions to take now to secure today's and tomorrow's missions.
